Overseas Travel and Honors Conferences
The CNU Honors Program encourages students to experience new places and cultures by arranging, and sometimes sponsoring, travel. In many cases, travel leads to academic credit. Each experience may count as an Honors credit toward completing the Honors program. Students must notify the director of the Honors program in advance.
The Honors Program sponsors "The New York Experience", an annual class in New York City. Five days and nights of seminars, walking tours, and cultural events provide a rich, interdisciplinary, and highly personal experience in one of the world's great cities-and satisfy an advanced Honors requirement. Honors Students may also hike the Appalachian Trail each summer in Dr. Kip Redick's RSTD 338, " The Appalachian Trail as Pilgrimage".
Through travel grants, the Honors program also supports students presenting research at professional conferences. Minimum GPA: 3.50.
