PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: A CHECKLIST
The following requirements apply to students entering CNU in Fall 2007:
Here are the H requirement as approved by the Honors Council for those entering the program in the 2007 - 2008 academic year. (Please note such things as AP credit, Dual Enrollment credit, and major selection may affect this package. Therefore, it is the responsibility of each H Student to meet with the Director, Dr. Jay Paul, to obtain approval of exceptions. In most cases, the Plan of Study and approval thereof results in this verification.)
- ULLC 100
- ENGL 123
- One Honors course in Mathematics
- ULLC 223
- Honors classes to satisfy at least three (3) Areas of Inquiry
- Given the program's commitment to global and multicultural perspectives, Honors students should complete their Liberal Learning Emphasis in Global and Multicultural Perspectives (GMP) Areas of Inquiry by taking three (3) Honors classes. [Honors courses in GMP will be scheduled each semester.]
- HONR 330 and RSTD 338 remain electives in the Honors Program
- In February of second semester: submit “Plan of Study”
- G.P.A. after first year: 3.25 or higher
- HONR 020, 030, 040
- HONR 490W
- G.P.A. at graduation: 3.5
The Pass/Fail Option may not be applied to Honors Program Requirements.
The following requirements apply to students entering CNU in Fall 2006:
- ULLC 100H
- ENGL 123H
- ULLC 223H
- At least 6 courses from (a) HONR 330 (The New York Experience) and RSTD 338 (The Appalachian Trail as Pilgrimage -
, new window), (b) Honors-approved courses in the Areas of Inquiry, and (c) Honors-approved courses in the major department [Note: With the consent of the Director student may use the International Research Assistantship or semester-long study abroad program to substitute for one or more of these requirements]
- In February of second semester: submit "Plan of Study"
- G.P.A. after first year: 3.25 or higher
- HONR 020, 030, 040
- HONR 490W
- G.P.A. at graduation: 3.5
The Pass/Fail Option may not be applied to Honors Program Requirements.
The following requirements apply to students who entered CNU in Fall 2005 or earlier:
- ENGL 123H, 223H
- Either HIST 111GH-112GH or ECON 201H-202H
- A total of six (6) Honors sections of General Education Requirements, including those used to satisfy #1 and #2 above (total may vary in some cases - exceptions must be approved by the Director):
BIOL 107H, BIOL 108H, COMM 201H, ECON 201H, ECON 202H, HIST 111GH, HIST 112GH, PHIL 101H, PSYC 201H, PSYC 202H
- In February of second semester: submit "Plan of Study"
- G.P.A. after first year: 3.25
- HONR 020, 030, 040
- Two of the following: HONR 300, HONR 310, HONR 320, HONR 330 (The New York Experience), RSTD 338 (The Appalachian Trail as Pilgrimage -
