Meredith Forbes Wins First Kim David Eger Honors Travel Award

Meredith Forbes, a third-year Honors Program student majoring in Political Science and minoring in Spanish, has won the first Kim David Eger Travel Award from the CNU Honors Program. The award of $1000 will enable Meredith to travel to India to do primary research into how women of faith in India view the relationship between work and religious belief.

Working with Professor Joseph Prud’homme, Meredith has established interviews in January 2008 with working Hindu and Muslim women to determine how social and economic conditions affect the their views. Meredith will present her findings and analysis publicly at CNU’s 2008 Paideia Conference as well as elsewhere.

A resident of Williamsburg, VA, Meredith enjoys surfing and running. Following graduation in 2009, she is looking forward to graduate study.

In addition to Mr. Eger, donors to this year’s award include Dr. Nancy Barendse, Ms. Patricia Dittman, Dr. Edward Weiss and Ms. Marcia Stefani, and members of the CNU Athletic and English Departments.
